About Us

Marlyn Vogel, Ed. D., A.B.S.N.P., is a licensed psychologist, a nationally certified school psychologist, a Diplomate in the American Board of School Neuropsychology, a certified reading specialist, and a certified instructor in the Wilson Language System. Dr. Vogel, who has worked as a reading specialist, public school psychologist and private practitioner, has extensive experience with pre-school and school aged children and adolescents, as well as adults. She conducts neuropsychological, psychoeducational and reading evaluations. She also consults with parents and schools regarding educational programming.

Dr. Vogel also has a certification in the use of a Cross-Battery approach to assessment (XBA approach). The XBA is an assessment method that is based on contemporary theory and research about cognition, achievement and neuropsychological processes. Using this research based approach to assessment, the practitioner is able to make research based decisions to guide test selection, to expand the traditional assessments to more comprehensively and reliably address referral concerns, and to systematically link results to meaningful, evidence based educational strategies and interventions.

Dr. Vogel provides training in Cogmed. Cogmed, a training program for attention problems caused by poor working memory, combines neuroscience with computer game design and close professional support.

Most recently, Dr. Vogel became a Certified Dyslexia Therapist. The certification is given by the International Dyslexia Association Council (IDA) on Accreditation and Certification. The IDA recognizes professionals’ specialized knowledge and skills to teach individuals with dyslexia by granting the IDA Certified Dyslexia Therapist certification. This certification acknowledges the high level of qualification and skills that the professional obtained through a specialized training program that included coursework, examinations and supervised practicums.

Dr. Vogel also is an adjunct professor in education at LaSalle University and Gwynedd Mercy College where she trains teachers in assessment and the teaching of reading.
